A. The WildernessPros™ Network is made up of a group of outfitters, guides, lodges, conservation groups, manufacturers, governmental agencies and associations that believe in the restoration and continuation of our great outdoor heritage through the use of creative marketing techniques, common sense business models and "cutting edge" technology.
Q. What's the difference between WildernessPros and other guide/lodge/charter Web sites?
A. The WildernessPros website and its technology are designed to actually perform a software function to save "would be" adventurers time and money through the use of a "single point of contact" system when seeking out guides, outfitters, lodges and charters. WildernessPros allows them to conduct a specific activity search for guides and/or outfitters, get the results, fill out one form with their trip requirements, and automatically have the M.O.S.T.™ system send their request to all the outfitters that came up in that original search.
Q. What is the M.O.S.T.™ System?
A. A unique (patent pending) technology that allows interested adventurers and outdoors enthusiasts to save time and money when searching for and contacting numerous guides, lodges or chartes (all at once) that "match-up" with their needs. This service is provided FREE OF CHARGE to all site visitors. Furthermore, a search using the M.O.S.T. system can be conducted from any of the WildernessPros Network partner sites.
Q. What are the differences in the WildernessPros™ Business Model from others that have come before it?
A. WildernessPros™ has been novel in its business model. Great amounts of marketing capital have not been spent in attempting to "drive" site visitors to us, instead, WildernessPros has partnered with companies who already have the numbers of visitors we want to get in front of and have placed our technology (and membership) on those. This approach is analogous to a "rifle" as opposed to a "shotgun" (or broadcast) type of marketing mindset that was so prevalent in the late '90s. It's this targeted focus that is providing a unique value in the outdoor recreation/travel industry to both listing members and corporate entities.
Q. Who are the WildernessPros™ Network Partners?
A. Currently, the WildernessPros™ Network consists of over 20 different entities. Some of them include: Ranger Boats, Pure Fishing, Quaker Boy Game Calls, Mossy Oak, Connecticut Valley Arms, Nikon Sport Optics, PowerBelt Bullets, Winchester Muzzleloading, Outdoor Adventure Network, Outdoor Technology, and still growing!
Q. What are the benefits for Guides/Lodges/Charters signing up with the WildernessPros™ Network?
A. It is cost effective! By signing up for one service, their business can be found from multiple sites throughout the outdoor industry. The WildernessPros™ business model literally places their listings in the path of millions of outdoor enthusiasts who are already on high-traffic outdoor sites either looking at or shopping for related products.
Q. What is the cost to a guide, lodge or charter per listing on the WildernessPros™ Network?
A. There is only one cost…if a guide, lodge or charter signs up through one of our partners, the cost to them is $149 for the entire year, and they are allowed to select up to three categories (activities) that apply to their business to be listed in without any additional charge. (Signing-up directly at the WildernessPros™ website costs $249/yr.) Unlike some of the other directory services that only allow you to select one category. If an outfitter does not want to sign up for an entire year, there is a month-to-month membership option available.
Q. Why isn't there more content on the WildernessPros™ Web site?
A. Our focus is on doing one thing and doing it well. We decided that in order to keep the focus on our M.O.S.T.™ system, we would limit our site to just that. It would also present a potential conflict of interest with our partners if we were to provide all sorts of other diversions such as stories, tips and products. Our partners then may begin to see us as more of a competitive force for website traffic rather than a "value-adding" partner.
Q. Where do Guides/Lodges/Charters register?
A. Guides, Lodges and Charters can register to become a part of the WildernessPros™ Network from the WildernessPros Web site, or from any participating partner Web sites.
