A Friend In Need Is A Friend Indeed…
WildernessPros Marketing's New Initiative Addresses Industry Pain
RALEIGH, NC. (February 13, 2006) — WildernessPros Marketing, LLC, the industry leader in great ideas for the great outdoors, is pleased to announce the overwhelming reception to its 2006 small business initiative. WPM's novel approach has been designed to provide developing companies with the same "big agency" advertising and marketing muscle of their larger competitors while working within smaller company budgetary limitations.
"We're humbled by the positive response," said Bryan Pack, Creative Director of WPM. "The idea was born out of Dave's (Jeffries) coming in and saying, 'what if we did something that gave back to the small outdoors oriented business owners, and it was structured in such a way that they'd know that they have a "partner" in WPM who wants to grow with them?' From there, he proposed a framework that asked for a diminished up-front stake from the client and a low monthly retainer (all of which totaled less than 2 full-page ads in an industry trade publication), and after we all reviewed it, it was a done deal," added Pack.
The new "small business initiative" offers a select number of companies everything they would expect from a top-tier agency such as WildernessPros Marketing. It provides such services as PR initiatives, web work, print ad development, media placement consulting and strategy, multimedia collateral development, press release crafting and distribution, editorial placement, trade show collateral/booth development, ad campaign development, brochure and sales collateral design, professional product photography, etc.
"Smaller companies are great," said Phil Zimmer of WPM. "It's ultimately gratifying to see them develop and succeed. It's no secret that we're running a large risk of losing money in the first 12 months with this program. But what we're saying to the client is that we'll take that up-front risk…but in exchange for our taking that risk, you agree (in the second year) to raise the first year's fixed costs by a percentage amount equal to that which WPM was able to increase your revenues.
"That way we're putting our money where our mouth is. If our client makes more money so do we…and to our way of thinking, that makes us partners in their operations and not just a 'bolt-on' solution that may or may not be vested in their success."
Currently WPM is defined by its efforts to assist small to medium sized companies that are in the brand building stage of their business cycles. While having provided such top brands as Mossy Oak®, VA Dept. of Tourism, and Wayne Pearson's Outfitters Association of America, among others, with a wide range of services for the past 3 years, WPM has recently re-focused its efforts on the new, emerging market contenders, and those established companies who have experienced significant brand erosion.

About WildernessPros™
WildernessPros Marketing LLC was created to satisfy the needs of a dynamic marketplace whose clients demand innovative new strategies to let them reach a growing number of outdoor enthusiasts for their products and services.
While many of today's outdoor advertising and marketing agencies provide initiatives that appear to be doing the job, the key question lingers: are they developing messages that only speak to an already avid population of outdoor enthusiasts, or are they helping their clients reach beyond to acquire and grow the customers of tomorrow. At WPM, we specialize in providing common sense (quantitative) solutions that will not only appeal to existing adventurers, but will also encourage and inspire new generations of potential explorers in taking their first steps into this wonderful new frontier.
